Details

Chicks are the size of bumblebees when hatched; 4-5" when fully grown. Hens will lay an egg a day starting around 6 weeks. Egg are great pickled - low cholesterol!
Low maintenance, make great pets. They do best if kept together in small groups. They are useful if kept in aviaries as they don't really fly and will eat the small seeds dropped by other birds. Typical feed is turkey/gamebird feed supplemented by millet, tomatoes, cucumbers, spinach, broccoli and mealworms.
They are fun, quiet, entertaining little birds.
