Gulf Coast Native Sheep are gentle, curious sheep that were first brought to the U.S. in 1521 by the Spanish and released in Florida and later in other areas. Since then they have adapted to the region with little or no management. The American Livestock Breeds Conservancy has them listed as Critically Endangered.
